Abstract
painting is a means of expressing that part of human existence which
is only felt, not seen. In constructing images this artist uses layers
of paint applied from a "plate". The paint can be etching
ink on mylar or acrylic film on canvas, paper or polyurathane. The
process of application, first to a "plate" and then to the
final substrate introduces the element of chance to the composition. The
artist is working in reverse, like backward writing. Subsequent layers
must always take into consideration what has gone before. |
